The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) had published the consolidated unaudited results for the period that ended on 30 September 2010. The report highlights some of the trends in the industry.
The Council for Medical Schemes had issued a press release updating the industry on developments at Bonitas Medical Fund. The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) had placed the acting principal officer of Bonitas Medical Fund, Mr. Gerhard van Emmenis and the compliance officer Mr. Joseph Maluleke in charge of the Fund, who were required to report to the CMS on a weekly basis.
The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) published two further editions of CMScript, which advised beneficiaries on Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMBs). Issue 7 of the CMScript gave beneficiaries information regarding what were PMBs, what was covered as PMBs and what measures medical schemes used to manage PMB costs. Issue 8 of the CMScript gave beneficiaries information about diabetes mellitus, the treatment thereof and beneficiaries' PMB entitlements.

National Budget 2011 / 2012
